That’s rhetorical, don’t answer, it doesn’t.
This summer’s most consistent Centenary Cup side, the Kinross Young Guns, will face their clubmates Kinross Tens in Saturday’s decider in what is sure to be a blockbuster affair.
The Young Guns progressed straight to the decider courtesy of their minor title win, dropping just two games along the way, while the Tens were forced to upset second-finishers Cavaliers in last weekend’s preliminary final.
They did so in fine fashion too at Bletchington Oval, rolling the maroons for 40 to claim a 57-run victory, on the back of a Lachlan Hunt five-wicket haul.
In a signal toward just how good a game Saturday’s decider could be, one of the Young Guns’ two losses this summer came at the hands of the Tens, way back in round six in November.
The Tens won that game by 37 runs, thanks to Ellis Hawker smashing a half-ton and then taking four wickets.
The only other time the two sides have met, recently in round 14 just a couple of weeks ago, the Young Guns prevailed by five wickets.
Both sides boast a plethora of talent and their progression obviously signals a bright future for the Kinross club.
In the Tens side Hunt, George Cumming and teen prodigy Phoebe Litchfield, who has smashed 212 runs at an average of 42.4 this summer, are sure to play a crucial role.
For the Young Guns, the likes of Harry May, Oliver Hoskins and Harry Kermode have all been in stellar form this season and will need to stand up when it counts.
The students’ grand final derby kicks off at 1.30pm on Saturday, at Country Club Oval.
