Eighty to ninety spaces are likely to be created along the hospital’s northern boundary and alongside existing car parks as part of stage one.
But 70 spaces in stage two will be located in one of two locations.
Of those who took part in the Central Western Daily’s online poll, 52.4 per cent supported the area behind the hospital’s ambulatory care entrance, while 47.6 per cent supported The Avenue, near the golf course.
Western NSW Local Health District chief executive Scott McLachlan said the ambulatory care option was a good one.
“[It’s] where a big volume of our patients come every day, their families and visitors,” he said.
“We’ve spent a lot of time thinking about what’s the right place for patients to feel at ease, to minimise the amount of time they have to look for car parks.”
