The Orange City curse.
The maroons became the seventh team to trump the Warriors in a preliminary final in the last 10 seasons on Sunday, but here’s the kicker.
Just once in those other six years has the team that defeated Orange City in the preliminary final gone on to win the decider – Centrals, in 2010-11.
Once, that’s a winning record of 16.66 per cent.
Most of those deciders have been thrashings too.
Outside of 2014-15 (two wickets) and 2010-11 (21 runs) the winning margins have been more than comfortable.
