The players were greeted with very windy conditions and some difficult pin placements, however they rose to the occasion and posted some great scores.
Marty Woods (54) won A grade scratch. Kelvin Amatto (62) won B grade and Colin McDougall (68) C grade.
Luke Pecoski won the A grade handicap with 50 net, Eddy Knight (50) claimed B grade and Bryan Hutchinson (39) C grade.
Ian Baker used a seven iron to score his first hole in one on the 14th. Congratulations.
Nearest the pins on the fourth went to Dave Chippendale in A grade, B-grade was not won and Brad Kelly took out C grade. John Connolly was closest in B-grade on the seventh and Graham Blair in C grade. A grade was not won. On the 11th, Craig Sharwood won A grade, Jason Neville B grade and Darren Connick C grade.
Don’t forget to secure your spot for the upcoming Club Championships commencing on April 8.
The first two medal rounds of the Club Championships will be played on April 8 and 9 with medal rounds three and four played on April 22 and 23.
Qualifying rounds for match play are the Sunday rounds two and four.
The Tuesday Scramble is proving popular with those people able to play through the week.
It is a social tournament comprising a nine-hole two-person Ambrose.

Other competitions played during the week are The Hahn SuperDry 3.5 Nines each Friday. This involves nine holes in stableford format with weekly prizes for Orange Ex-Services Club members. The cost is only $9 which includes a free schooner of Hahn SuperDry 3.5 or a post-mix soft drink.
Barefoot Bowls Burger and Beer is also available from 12 pm each Friday for only $19.
The Tuesday and Thursday nine-hole competitions continue throughout the year.
The event on Saturday is an individual stableford sponsored by Orange City Life.
COUNTRY CLUB LADIES
On Saturday if the weather stays dry, we will play an 18-hole individual stableford. Duties by Alison and Fran with Melissa on raffles.
If you haven't got your name in the draw, please give the Starter’s Hut a call on 63625162. There are a few spots at the end of the field.
Last week the ladies played their 18 Hole Par Three Championships. Overall scratch winner was Susan Fenwick with 57 followed by Margot Sullivan (67 c/b) from Lee Pickett (67).
Handicap winner was Iris Dwyer with a net 38 closely followed by Adele Henry (40) and Sue Hammond (41).
Nearest the pins were won by Trish Harvey for A grade, Elaine Connor for B grade and Jenny Kain for C grade.
All these ladies won a Pizza Capers voucher each. The overall NTP on the eighth was won by Susan Fenwick who won a Coffee Club voucher.
For our raffle we had plants donated by Tom Cobley from Canowindra which were wonderful. The lucky winners were Sally Heigh and Sue Healy with Iris Dwyer winning a cake.
Last Sunday Wentworth Golf Club held their Ladies Open Tournament. We had two major prize winners on the day, with Fran Lumsdon taking out B grade scratch and Jenny Kain winning C grade scratch.
Awesome effort girls on the tough Wenty layout. Well done to all the other Ex-Services prize winners also.
I haven't received any results from the Ladies Matchplay this week, with the weather playing a huge part in this. I will have all results next week for you.
A reminder that our Ladies Open Tournament is coming up on Saturday, April 1. The nomination sheet is up in the ladies room at the club or give our captain Sally Heigh a call to enter.
WENTWORTH MEN
Last Saturday members and guests contested a four-person ambrose sponsored by young local businessmen Ethan Lewin Contracting.
A big thank you to Ethan for his support at Wentworth, and should you need anything done around home, feel free to contact Ethan for a competitive quote.
The handicap winners were John Dalton, Luke Taylor, Jamie Newman and Peter Heffernan with 55.75 net.
Tom Grieve, Paul Donnelly, Dave Stonestreet and Darren Small were second with 56 net.
The morning foursome of Phil Sturt, Darrell Hiskens, Dave Grenfell and Peter Warren were third with 56.62.
The Outback Vending long drives were won by Michael Davis in A grade, Ged Fulwood in B grade and Chris Collins in C grade.
The overall NTP sponsored by The 19th View Restaurant was won by Graham Carr.
Players needed 57.1 net to win a ball.
Last Sunday the Ladies played their Open Tournament, proudly sponsored by Atlas Copco.
There was no Thursday stableford competition this week due to the Veterans Week Of Golf.
The Rolling Stableford continues to grow as well, this is a stableford event ran every Monday, Tuesday and Friday.
Richard Bale won this week’s event with 33 points.
This Saturday members and guests will contest an individual stableford sponsored by Saunders and Staniforth Valuers.
Val and Harold Percival will sponsor an individual stableford next Sunday.
Players are reminded the Club Championships begin April 1, the club championship schedule is detailed below:
Saturday April 1; first rounds of the 72-hole medal championship, match play championship qualifying. Sponsored by Nexus Insurance Services, GRACE Information and Records Management and Coca Cola Amatil. The second rounds of both are on Sunday, April 2.
The match play component of the club championship will begin on Sunday, April 9
The Wenty Super 6’s are up to the final fortnight of play.
Players are encouraged to complete their rounds to guarantee their teams bonus points.
The Pro Shop staff would like to take this opportunity to thank Peter Coleman for his organising and involvement of the City Of Orange Veterans Golf Classic over the past years.
Peter announced at last weeks presentation that 2017 will be his final year running the tournament.
Peter was instrumental in the tournaments success and made the cart booking process and general running of the tournament run very successful.
So from all the Pro Shop staff a big thanks to peter and hopefully he can get the clubs out in 2018 and actually play in the tournament.
WENTWORTH LADIES
Our annual tournament was well represented with 65 players from various clubs. It was sponsored by Atlas Copco, we would like to thank them for their continued support.
We would also like to thank Wenty Pro Shop and Myer for their wonderful raffle prizes.
Division one scratch was won by Bathurst champion Chelsea Litchfield with a brilliant 78.
She played some great golf and really deserved her win, well done.
Runner-up was Bathurst’s Katrina Ferris (84), she was really happy with her game. Third place went to Laurie-anne Usher (86). Division one handicap winner was Helen Ross with 71 net.
Helen is finding some great form at the right time of the year, runner-up was Ros Fuller (73) and third was Michelle Paul (77).
Division one stableford was won by Vicki Bray with 35 points. Vicki is playing really well at the moment, runner up was Lorraine Swain (33) and third was Taua Holmes (32).
Division two scratch was won by Fran Lumsden (97 c/b), who was super excited to get that trophy in her hands. Runner up was Nowra’s Janeace Owen (97). Third was Leone Dalton (102).
Robyn Cannon won division handicap with 73, from Dubbo’s Sue Drum (75) and third was Robyn Forrester (78).
Division two stableford was won by Margo Snare (32), runner up was Alison Thorn (31)and Beverley Jenkinson (30) was third.
Division three scratch was won by Jenny Kain (108). Jenny is really enjoying her golf at the moment and her great scores reflect that, well done. Runner-up was Sue Hammond (110) and third was Susan Hutchinson (113).
Division two handicap winner was Brenda O’Neil (71), she was ecstatic to receive a big congratulatory kiss from Atlas Copco representative Frank Atlas O’Neil for her troubles.
Runner-up was Lyn Mellier (76) and third was Deirdre King (86).
The division three stableford winner was Fiona Skaines (32) who pole-danced her way to the podium, runner up was Sue Healey (29) and third place was Julianne Grant (28).
Teams Event was won by Fran Lumsden, Jenny Kain and Laurie-Anne Usher
NTPs were won by Katrina Ferris, Fran Lumsden, Sue Hammond. Longest Drives were won by Helen Moriarty, Margo Snare, Sue Hammond.
DUNTRYLEAGUE MEN
Last Saturday was an individual stableford, sponsored by Spanline.
In A Grade, winner was Steve Conran with 37 points followed by Tyson Lane (35) and Denis Cranfield (33).
B Grade winner was Duncan Gibbs (38) from Chris Kelly (36) and Jim Swift (34).
C Grade was taken out by Dale McIntosh (38), followed by Robert Walker (35) and John Mason (34).
Saturday’s event is the first round of the Club Championships, sponsored Burcher EFI.
Wednesday’s individual stableford was contested by 126 players.
In division one winner was Dan McLeish (38), followed by Trevor Fisher (37) from Dale Lawrence (37) and Robert Millikin (35).
Division two was won by James Linton (36) followed by Graham Smith (35 c/b) from Bob McFadyen (35).
This week the Putt for Cash is up to $3,800, after S Mullin missed a four-metre putt last Friday night.
Monday seniors individual stableford was won by John Brennan (36) from Dennis Russell (35 c/b) from Ferdi Boers (35).
FURZIE’S FOURS
Team winners from Week ten were Quality Building Supplies with 40 points.
Individual places were Dennis Schultz (21 c/b) from John Cook (21) followed by Peter Cannon (20).
Team progressive scores after week 10 have the Quality Building Supplies leading with 371 points.
Junior Clinics are in full swing. Open juniors (8-14) on Thursday 4pm-5pm.
The winner of the mixed 4BBB Knockout events were Jim and Ruth Swift with a 5 and 4 victory over Martin Caro and Marilyn Maxwell.
DUNTRYLEAGUE LADIES
Tuesday’s weather was not the best for golfing, unfortunately the first round of the Ladies Championships had to be abandoned due to dangerous weather conditions.
That’s resulted in the Championships being reduced to a 54-hole event.
The first round was played on Thursday, March 23 followed by the second and third rounds on the 28th and 30th respectively.
The second round of the championships is being sponsored by Robin Thompson and Sally Gordon, thank you for the support.
Any ladies not playing the Championships and do not have their names in the draw are welcome to contact the Golf Shop and arrange a time to hit off from the 10th tee.
The second Monthly Medal which was to be played on Tuesday will now be played on Tuesday, March 28.
A reminder that on April 3, 4 and 5 the Food Week Plate will be held.
