DAY BY DAY: Sticking our noses in on people’s parking problems

WRONG: This driver failed to read the signs or notice how others were parking.

Go anywhere in Australia and you’ll hear the same whinge … people can’t drive.

Orange is no different: we love complaining about how everyone else parks, uses roundabouts, merges or fails to indicate.

Most of the time these complaints are just hot air. Other days, you find concrete proof.

Take this driver who parked in Lords Place on Monday morning, well within the lines but the wrong way.

You’ve got to ask, did they look at the signs or see the other correctly parked cars? Or were they just focused on finding a vacant park?

This is one of those times people want to see council’s mobile parking patrols swoop in without mercy.
