The two technology executives have shared kitchens in the past but never in a business venture.
“We’re not going to rip and replace. It’s our first foray into this type of business, exploring our passions, which are food and wine,” Mr Duncan said.
“We want to highlight what is fantastic about local produce, wines and beers.”
Mr Cook said the venture would serve as a launch pad for other ideas but emphasised the pair’s focus was on improving the offerings at Percy’s.
“It’s a great location, in a town which is growing, with great wine and great food.”
SERVICE RELOCATES
Orange’s Vision Australia has relocated to 107 Prince Street.
As well as its relocation, regional manager Beth Sywulsky said the organisation was investing in technology which would enable staff to work remotely, including during visits with clients.
“We created a new role that is a combination of an occupational therapist and access technology specialist to better address the needs and demands of Orange and the Central West,” she said.
COLES STALWARTS
The 124 staff at Orange’s Coles supermarket will celebrate a combined service of 900 years in 2017.
Twenty-six staff will mark a decade of service, including Suzanne Wilkinson, who started with the company in 2000 at Ulladulla.
Mrs Wilkinson said she had seen many changes and forged close friendships.
“We used to have to memorise every fruit and vegetable that we stocked and look it up at the registers as customers came through,” Mrs Wilkinson said.
“It makes you excited to come into work when you know you’ll be working alongside such friendly faces.”
ALI MOVING ON
Clothing boutique Miss Mary Mac owner Ali McKay is leaving after six years.
The Anson Street shop is having a “goodbye sale”, with a new owner to take over in May.
“It’s exciting to think the store lives on. It’s important for Orange residents to support local business so people get to enjoy diversity within the retail market,” Ms McKay said.
