Residents in the city’s west lost power on Saturday afternoon after a tree fell on a power line.

Fire and Rescue NSW were called to Ploughman’s Lane after a poplar tree fell due to the windy conditions.

Station officer Brad Monico said firefighters were called at 1.26pm.

Mr Monico said firefighters setup an exclusion zone to protect residents and contacted Essential Energy to resolve the situation.

Firefighters remained on scene until 2.50pm.

According to Essential Energy, 77 homes were still without power at 3.17pm on Saturday afternoon.
