There was a pleasing turnout on Wednesday for the unisex social night, with plenty of hard-fought rallies played throughout the four rounds of this week’s competition.

In round one Sam Radojicic and Dave Foran were victorious over Aleks Radojicic and Peter Atkins 6-2, Julian May and Col Parsons had a good win over Gordon Dunlop and Tijana Radojicic 6-2.
In round two Dave Foran and Peter Atkins defeated father and daughter duo of Sam and Tijana Radojicic 6-1, while Col Parsons and Gordon Dunlop defeated Julian May and Aleks Radojicic in a close 6-3.
In round three father and son pairing Sam and Aleks Radojicic played well to defeat Col Parsons and Tijana Radojicic 6-0, while Dave Foran and Gordon Dunlop had the same result against Julian May and Peter Atkins 6-0.
In round four Col Parsons and Dave Foran defeated Aleks and Tijana Radojicic 6-1 and Peter Atkins and Gordon Dunlop combined well to defeat Sam Radojicic and Julian May in a close 6-4.
Our complex has been thriving lately due to the Spirit of Anzac display occupying the Indoor Tennis Centre.
All of their club’s usual court hires have transferred over to our club, hence our courts being utilised more each day with plenty of players taking to the courts.
We have gladly accommodated Orange Indoor Tennis Centre and hope that all players have enjoyed the outside experience.
At mixed social last Sunday, there were five courts in use, so that was great to see.
Players seem to welcome the cooler autumn weather against the summer heat.
Mary Baxter was lucky to have been drawn as the winner of the free hit voucher, that she can use in the coming weeks to get onto the court and play some more tennis.
Social will be held again this Sunday from 1.30 and will be run by committee man Alan Hubbard.
The ladies had a good hit with plenty of socializing on Thursday morning.
It’s great to see them enjoying themselves as they play and improve every week.
Play starts at 9am, so if anyone would like to join in, they are very welcome.
Coaching is in full swing and is held each afternoon after school.
Along with Hot Shots for the littlies, held every Friday afternoon.
Court hire to the public is available by appointment, with very reasonable rates.

The club’s annual general meeting has been rescheduled for Sunday, March 26 at 12.30pm and will be held in the tennis clubhouse.
