Mr Culverson, aged in his mid-70s, was discovered by family after he was noticed missing on Thursday afternoon.
A police spokesman said he left his home on his property, Culya, on Culverson Road, on the bike about 12.45pm.
“When he failed to return after two hours a family member went searching for him and he was found a short time later trapped under the quad bike,” the spokesman said.
“He died at the scene.”
The spokesman said there were no suspicious circumstances.
“Police will prepare a file for information of the coroner”.
Mr Culverson is survived by family including wife Peggy and son Russell.
His nephew Paul, who is married to Cabonne councillor Janelle Culverson, said on Friday the death was a tragedy for the whole family.

Mr Culverson said his uncle ran a 320-hectare cattle and general farming property with two houses on it and used the quad bike to travel around the farm.
He said that when his uncle was noticed missing a search was started and he was discovered underneath the quad bike at a dam.
Mr Culverson is the fourth person to die in a quad bike accident in NSW in the past two weeks.
A six-year-old girl was killed at Pilliga in the state’s north on March 5 when the quad bike she was riding on with two other girls hit a tree.
On the same day, a 60-year-old man died at Sofala when his quad bike rolled and left him with critical injuries.
Another 60-year-old man died in a quad bike crash at Blandford in the Upper Hunter on March 11.
