Police search of car turns up five grams of methamphetamine

Orange police on Wednesday charged a 34-year-old man with possessing and supplying prohibited drugs.

Officers stopped the man and located 5.5 grams of methamphetamine during a search of his car.

In other crime news:

  • Police are investigating after a kayak was stolen from back of a ute on Melaleuca Way. It was taken between 8.45pm on Wednesday and 6.25am on Thursday.
  • Thieves on Thursday broke into a Bathurst Road property and stole a wallet and two mobile phones.
  • A handbag was stolen from the floor next to a toilet cubicle in Kite Street at 1pm on Wednesday.
  • A 40-year-old woman was on Wednesday charged with being armed with intent, intimation and assault. Police say the woman threatened to stab a 64-year-old man with a knife in a domestic violence-related incident.
