Regional tourism organisation progress shared

BUSINESSES with an interest in tourism are invited to an information session to shape the direction of the industry.

The transition board, TDO Ltd, will hold the hour-long forum on Tuesday, March 21 at 5.30pm in the Hotel Canobolas ballroom.

TDO Ltd will share its progress so far in developing a regional tourism organisation after forming late last year.

Executive officer Justin Byrne said discussions had been ongoing with councils and Millthorpe’s business group.

“The concept we’re developing is an industry-led regional tourism organisation and that means constant consultation,” he said.

The invitation is extended to Brand Orange members, the Orange Region Vignerons Association, those involved in FOOD Week, the Orange Business Chamber, the Orange Regional Arts Foundation, the Rotary Club of Orange, and all tourism, hospitality, retail and business stakeholders.

The board is independent and not-for-profit, with representatives from Blayney, Cabonne and Orange councils, Brand Orange and the business and sports sectors.
