The game is modeled on netball for people over 50-years-old and has been changed to make it low-intensity sport.
“It’s not about competition, it’s a way to get out and socialise and enjoy yourself,” player Sylvia Smith said.
“We only walk, we don’t run and the net is a little lower than usual.”
Mrs Smith said there were players in their 70s who enjoyed who looked forward to hitting the courts at Orange PCYC each week.
“You’d be surprised how capable some of the older ladies are,” she said.
Mrs Smith said it was about meeting new people with the focus on fun and as an easy way to stay active.
Membership for Orange Lifeball is $20 a year, with a few dollars to cover court hire costs each week.
Lifeball begins at 9.30am every Tuesday at PCYC. Mrs Smith said people could learn more by contacting the PCYC on 6360 2249.
