Thirty-one social bowlers endured the blustery conditions on Tuesday and all agreed there was no expertise in playing any ends. It was a matter of letting the bowl go and see what the wind could do with it.

Six of our girls played at Molong on Tuesday in the District Singles. We wish them all good luck and will post the results next week.
District Triples and Fours nominations have now closed.
The Open and Senior Pairs will be played at Newstead on March 30 and 31.
The District Triples will be played on April 4 at Blayney.
The District Senior and Open Fours will be played at Orange City on April 11.
Mixed Triple bowls will be played on Saturday, March 25 at Orange City.
Please put your names on the board. Cost is $5 and a plate for women and the start time is 1pm.
Next Tuesday, March 21 all proceeds of our day, from our green fees, raffles, 100 club will be donated to the cause of Ovarian Cancer so come along ladies and have an enjoyable day and support a worthy cause.
The Novice Singles winner was Nicole Carr and Mary Carr was the runner up. Well done ladies.
Next Monday, March 20 the committee will be discussing the Constitution and by laws so if you need to bring up any concerns please contact a committee member.
There will be a Pennant Luncheon on Wednesday, March 29 at noon at the Orange City Garden Buffet Restaurant which is open to all and not just Pennant players.Please put your name on the board for catering purposes.

This weekend we see the quarter-finals of the major pairs. These games are set down for 1pm Saturday. Please check the board.

COUNTRY CLUB MEN
Last Saturday results of Minor Singles Round three were Trevor Ormsby beat Rob George and Peter Lange beat John Cooper.
In the Major Singles round three Glen Robinson beat Joe Powyer, Lee Stinson beat Clint Gamble, Ben Callaway beat Tom Leonard in the best game of the series so far 31-30 and John Dunn beat Phil Knight 31-14.
The Raffle last Saturday was won by Tony Bowers with the lucky bowler Ben Callaway with consolation to Tom Leonard, Peter Griffith and Tom Leonard and the jackpot was not won.
Last Tuesday Social Bowls had fewer players on the green because rain in the morning and predicted severe storms and winds in the afternoon. The raffles won by Gary Pearce and Trevor Ormsby with the lucky bowlers Barry Lowe and Denis Morcom, unlucky bowlers Bob Jenkins, Jim Watson and Roy Buss the jackpot was not won
Next Saturday at 1pm Major Singles semi-finals are John Dunn versus Glen Robinson marker Jim Finn and Lee Stinson versus Ben Callaway marker Tom Leonard.
Minor Singles Final is Trevor Ormsby versus Peter Lange marker John Cooper.
The first round of Major Pairs is to be played on or before April 8 with Peter Baker and Denis Morcom versus Cec Leabeater and Kevin Giumelli and Neil Higgins and Fred Maw versus Michael Roach and Phil Knight. The second round is scheduled for April 8.
Players are encouraged to arrange games earlier and advise Jim and all championship games are play or forfeit.
Major Pairs first round, commencing April 1, draw is Peter Baker and Denis Morcom versus Cec Leabeater and Kevin Giumelli, Neil Higgins and Fred Maw versus Michael Roach and Phil Knight and draw for round two on April 8 is on the board.

Last Sunday in the second round of the pennants again some mixed results with the No.4 side losing to Manildra in a game that could have gone either way throughout 1-9 and No.6 and No.7 teams both winning over Blayney 81/2 to 11/2 + 27 and 8 to-2 + 20 well done to all players and a big thank you to the reserves who turned up and did the marking for both games.

MANILDRA
Mixed results for our pennant teams on Sunday with the No.4 team playing well to record a 9-1 win over Orange Country Club while our No.6 team put in a good effort before going down 9-1 to Condobolin.
This week our No.4 team are at home against Majellan while our No.6 team travel to Molong. Please check the board for teams and starting times.
The final of the Handicap Consistency between Sam Pallier and Iain Campbell will be played at 12.30 on Saturday.
Friday Twilight winners this week were Barry Gosper, Sam Pallier and Andrew Gosper. Runners up were Will Cox, Helen Lord and Paul Trevena.
Saturday night winners this week were Kim Campbell, Helen Lord and Iain Campbell while the runners up were Cheryl McConnell, Troy Williams and Greg Pallier.
The Corner To Corner jackpot is up to $710.00 this week so come down and try your luck this Saturday at 6.30pm.
NEWSTEAD MEN
Last Wednesday, March 8, we had our social triples and our players enjoyed a great afternoon of bowls on the Country Club green. The winning rink was won by Stan Fieldus, Ron Kelly and Noel Elbourn while the losing rink was won by Nev Bartimote, Barry O’Donnell and Ken Bevan.
The raffles on the day were won by Garry Pearce, and Stan Fieldus.
Last Sunday our Pennants team had bit of a scramble to field our teams; however we had a great day at Wellington. Unfortunately we went down to a better team on the day, losing 10-0.
