This month their focus turns to running, jumping and throwing for their school athletics carnivals.
Orange High School was one of the first cabs off the rank on Friday when its serious – and not-so-serious –athletes took part in their chosen track and field events or just cheered on their classmates.
Teacher and carnival coordinator Amanda Livingstone was delighted with the students’ spirit in and out of competition.
“We had huge numbers in the junior age groups,” she explained at the carnival’s conclusion.
“And the house captains did a great job.”
