On the weekend the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party state member found himself fulfilling a couple of ceremonial roles in the electorate which were more familiar to him.
On Saturday morning Mr Donato fired the first shot at the Orange Clay Target Club's annual Golden Cartridge Shoot.
For the record, he hit the clay pigeon with his first shot.
The following morning he fired the starter’s pistol to send the field on its way over the Orange Running Festival’s five kilometre course.
