It’s 140 years since the station was built and the first trains steamed into town.
NSW Trains are repainting the building in a cream hue with pink and brown features.
A spokesman said the works would freshen up the station.
“It includes a full repaint in a heritage scheme that traces back to the station’s original colours,” he said.
“Extensive research has been done in planning the refresh to retain the heritage values of the station.”
Other works include new CCTV and a customer help point, bike racks, a family accessible toilet, a kiss and ride and taxi zone, car park lighting, garden maintenance, replacing seats and rubbish bins.
