The Warriors will take on the Lightning in a mouth-watering Twenty20 decider next Friday night after the former side scored a comfortable win over CYMS in the penultimate game.
Thanks to a disciplined bowling performance and a well-controlled run chase, Orange City won by five wickets with more than an over to spare.
“We’re extremely pleased with the result, winning titles is every team’s goal and we’ve taken the next step toward doing that,” Grenfell said.
“I was really pleased with the performance against CYMS, I’d call it a real finals performance.
“We bowled beautifully and fielded really well too, then timed our chase pretty well.
“Timmy Low was a real linchpin in our chase, he batted superbly.”

Low finished 51 not out in Orange City’s successful chase, the Warriors ran down CYMS’ meagre total of 9-108 comfortably.
Craig Rogan (22) did some real damage too, smashing 22 from 12 balls at the end of the innings.
He snared 2-28 as well, while Jackson Coote (2-9) and Brett Causer (2-19) were the Warriors’ other destroyers.
Ant Spruce (20) and Grant Koch (20) were CYMS’ best with the bat, while Hugh Le Lievre (2-21) was the green and golds’ only multiple wicket-taker.
“Hugh bowled superbly,” Grenfell said.
“CYMS fought hard and forced us to go all the way to the 19th over in the chase, how well Hugh bowled had a lot to do with that.”
The Warriors’ win on Friday night keeps their somewhat surprising T20 record against CYMS intact. Since the competition changed to the shortest format in 2012-13, Orange City has won every meeting the two sides have had.
Granted, they’ve only played thrice in those five seasons, but the Warriors have claimed all three games convincingly.
Next Friday’s decider will be the Warriors’ third Royal Hotel Cup grand final appearance in those five seasons too.
“We’re really looking forward to a crack at the Lightning boys,” Grenfell said.
