A man who punched another man who was standing on the other side of a backyard fence did not appear for sentencing in Orange Local Court on Monday.

Christopher Paul Donovan, 40, of South Street in Strathfield was fined $1000 for assault in his absence.
According to a police report, the victim had come to the fence on November 27, 2016, after hearing a distressed dog in the yard of a Kurim Avenue house where Donovan was staying.
According to the report the pair got into a discussion and Donovan appeared to be affected by drugs or alcohol and was slurring his words and moving erratically.
The police said he bent down as if to pick something up and then jumped up and punched the victim with both fists on each side his jaw at the same time and then asked the victim to go out the front so they could fight.
Police were phoned and found Donovan hiding under a bed in the Kurim Avenue house.
They said he was drunk and did not appear to understand he was under arrest at the time.
Cannabis found
A man who pleaded guilty to possession of a prohibited drug after being found in possession of cannabis was unrepresented in Orange Local Court on Monday.
Daniel Nathan Petty, 41, of Phillip Street was fined $400.
About 11.15am o December, 1, 2016, police saw a car parked outside a house that was known for drug supply.
A passenger was seen running into the house while a woman waited in the driver’s seat.
At 11.30am police saw the car again when it was travelling east on Bathurst Road and stopped it at the intersection with McLachlan Street.
The driver was breath tested and both she and Petty were told to get out of the car while it was searched.
Petty admitted to having “some pot” in the car and it was for his personal use but he didn’t know how much it weighed.
Police weighed the cannabis and found it weighed 28 grams and had an estimated street value of between $300 and $400.
Expensive ride
A woman caught driving while her licence was cancelled was fined in her absence at Orange Local Court on Monday.
Clarissa Jane Richards, 32, of Oxley Place, was fined $1000 and given an automatic driving disqualification.
She was caught driving in Lone Pine Avenue about 3.15pm on January 12.
