The students will be part of a school team that will take part in the five kilometre run on Sunday and some will also take part in the two kilometre junior dash on Saturday.
Entries close at midnight Friday and festival coordinator Stewart Vidler said money raised from this year’s event will go to FoodCare in Orange.
He said this is the 11th festival and $110,000 has been donated to various charities in the Orange area.
“There’s always a last minute push and this year we have the largest half marathon that we’ve ever done with our regional running championships,” Mr Vidler said.
The two kilometre junior dash will be at 4pm at Gosling Creek on Saturday. Other events will start at the Orange hospital campus on Sunday with the five kilometre run starting at 10.30am, the 10 kilometre at 9.30am, the half marathon at 6.45am and the marathon at 6.30am.
