The seven race meeting kicks off at 1.36pm and will see a number of horses fine tuning their preparations in readiness for the upcoming Country Championship qualifier at Wellington on March 12.
Racing Orange executive officer Gav Pilossof was thrilled with fields, packed with championship contenders.
“There looks to be a few runners in line … including Distinctive Look and Art'N'Ollie in the Banjo Patterson Cup and Missy Rythmos and Southern Flight in the last race of the day,” he said.
The meeting has been well supported from the Sydney and provincial stables with Bjorn Baker, Jason Coyle, Craig Ritchie and Rick Worthington all with multiple runners.
Orange-based trainers will also be well represented with Brad Draper, Alison Smith, Lee Van Den Bos and Michael Plummer all having runners on the day.
The Alison Smith stable is terrific form with Absolute Ripper winning again at Hawkesbury on Tuesday and is certain to attract the punters notice.
Dream Empress, who was a last start winner at Parkes, will be extremely hard to beat in The Turfcare NSW Banjo Patterson Cup, while the other Smith stable runner Missy Rythmos, who was an impressive winner at Orange when resuming from a spell, will be hard to beat in the last race the Broadley and Hayden Chartered Accountants Benchmark 55 1280m.
The races are a rare opportunity for punters to venture to Towac Park on a Saturday and enjoy all the live Group 1 action from Randwick and Caulfield.
The highlight of course will be the Group 1 Chipping Norton Stakes where Winx looks to continue her unbeaten streak to 15 races, while in the Surround Stakes we can all cheer home Global Glamour who races in the Surround Stakes and is part owned by well known local Bronwyn Ryan.
