Barnstoneworth United Football Club (BUFC) was formed in 1998 and was the brainchild of Chris Jacobs who organised the first meeting of the club to gauge player interest.

The laid-back nature of the meeting over a few beers would set in stone the club philosophy over the ensuing years being that whoever was keen to play would get a run regardless of age or ability.
Well it appears this model was the correct approach with the club fielding teams in the Orange and District Football Association competitions for their 20th season this year.
“2017 is set to be a huge year for BUFC, with planning underway on how the club will celebrate this milestone season,” BUFC president Glenn Harpley said.
“I’m very proud of the way the club has grown to be a very successful club, but more importantly a very social club.”
In 2017, BUFC will be entering teams in the All Age A Grade, B Grade and the Over 35s competitions. Recruitment for the new season is well underway and the club is again looking for additional players to top up its playing stocks.
“We are looking for players in all grades, particular the A Grade and Over 35’. If you are keen to dust off the boots and come and play for Barnstoneworth, then there are a few ways you can get in touch”, said Harpley.
This year the club is doing something a little different for their registration day by holding a BBQ and social cricket match at Bletchington Oval on February 26, commencing at 1pm.
