Orange’s Siena Boland along with Eliza and Bernadette Mills were nigh on unstoppable in NSW Country’s stunning bronze medal win at last week’s Basketball Australia Ivor Burge Championship, particularly in the third-place play-off.

They’ve long said, whoever they may be, the best players stand up when it counts, and that’s exactly what the Orange trio did in leading their side to what, early in the competition, looked a very unlikely podium finish.
The Mills twins and Boland combined for 44 of NSW Country’s 54 points, which was enough to trump their Metro counterparts by five.
In a stunning individual performance, Eliza Mills accounted for 38 of those. She also notched eight rebounds and three assists in a player-of-the-game showing.
Bernadette Mills grabbed 12 boards to go along with her six assists and two points, while Boland scored four points and had eight boards and four assists in the bronze medal game.
It was a remarkable win for NSW Country, a side which won just one game prior to the play-offs. The side then lost to ACT (66-48) in the semi-final and defeated South Australia (89-44) in the preliminary final.
Their showings in the bronze medal game capped off stunning tournaments for all three, in particular Eliza Mills. She averaged 32.33 points per game, almost 10 rebounds a game and two assists as well.
Victoria claimed the Ivor Burge title, defeating the ACT 58-49 in the final.
