Played out at Country Club Oval, Hannelly backed up his day one ton with an unbeaten 50 after CYMS secured first innings points courtesy of 49-run win, a triumph edging the green and golds closer to the minor premiership.
Hannelly’s maiden Orange District Cricket Association century put the defending premiers in a promising position of 6-289.
A 63-run partnership for the third wicket between Josh Doherty (41) and Matt Corben (63) gave the maroons hope of an unlikely run chase until Winslade removed the former and then claimed the wicket of Tom Aggett (four) not long after.
The double blow to the Cavaliers’ middle order took the wind out of their sails.
Some fight from Bailey Ferguson (30) and some typically heavy blows from Chris Martin (15) aided Corben’s bid to rescue his side but it proved in vain, Corben the final Cavs wicket to fall as the maroons allotted 50 overs closed in.
Winslade bagged 2-20, while Hugh Le Lievre back up his two wickets on day one – the veteran all-rounder removed both openers, John Warrington (19) and Ev McCall (27) – with the scalp of Chris Martin late in the innings to finish with 3-59 from 14 overs.
Experienced seamer Chirs Novak also chimed in with some key wickets, nabbing 3-69, including the late blow of Corben.
CYMS (74.12) now leads the competition over Orange City (57.49) leading into next week’s bye round.
Centrals ocupies third place on the ladder with 44.66 points, exactly the same amount as Cavaliers.
However, an outright loss relegates the maroons in fourth.
