The saga of the greyhound ban became a key issue for many in regional Australia and it came to the fore Orange byelection, which saw the Nationals lose the election by 50 votes.
The ban became an inspiration for artist Mark Tippett, who created a painting for the Bald Archy art prize.
“It shows (ex-)Premier Mike Baird as the lure. It has been selected as a finalist, but timing is everything and Mike stepped aside just as I sent the entry in,” Mr Tippett said.
The Bald Archys are in Canberra and will head on a regional tour from March.
