Jay Peter Hanrahan, 18, of Thistle Street, Molong, represented himself in Orange Local Court on Monday.
“I was drunk and shouldn’t have done it,” Hanrahan told Magistrate Bruce Williams when asked why he committed the offences.
“I think even when you said it you knew it’s not a good excuse, there comes a point when silly behaviour becomes illegal behaviour and smashing someone’s window is illegal behaviour,” Mr Williams said.
Hanrahan broke the window at 5.45pm on January 14 when he was walking along the street after being told to leave a Bank Street hotel because he was drunk.
According to a report, when police approached him he turned away then swore and thrashed when they grabbed him to stop him walking away.
No police were injured when he resisted arrest.
