For one day Orange fried.

When the mercury rose into unchartered territory at 40.1 degrees on Saturday just about everyone in town was feeling the heat.

But it didn’t take long for the city to return to normal.

A cool change on Sunday night sent the temperature crashing down to single figures overnight.

It was just 7.1 degrees at 6.55am on Monday and even colder at 5.6 degrees at 6.52am on Tuesday.

Those hot, sleepless nights of the past week or so have become a distant memory. Bliss.

The heat will return with temperatures of 32 and 33 tipped for later this week but the nights will be cooler and more comfortable.

Now for some rain...
