Robert Colin Choat, 19, of South Terrace, was caught by police driving while disqualified on December 10, 2016.
Choat was seen driving a red Mazda sedan with four passengers when he was pulled over by police who had come to the area following a report of dangerous driving.
He was represented in court by solicitor Nidal Abdi who questioned whether the previous disqualification was properly explained to him.
He was disqualified from driving from June 20, 2016 to June 20, 2019 last year for unlicensed driving and it will now be five years before Choat can get his licence.
