And in another great day for the region at the championships in Orange, Western Zone’s Abbie Uhr hit a century to guide her team to its second win in succession.
Orange District Junior Cricket Association president Dave Cumming said the Mitchell team was looking to repeat its tournament victories from 2010 and 2012.
“We are always up there,” he said.
Coyte has made 45 in both games.
Lithgow’s Pawan Gajula hit 32 while Bailey Brown ably assisted with 30 after hitting 36 on Monday.
On Tuesday Mitchell finished with 189 and bowled South Coast out for 109.
Hugh McIntyre was best of the bowlers with 3-36 off eight overs.
“It could be that Mitchell and Blacktown will be the teams,” Cumming said.
On Monday Mitchell scored 7-224 to beat St George Dragons who managed 106.
In the girls’ competition Uhr, from Blayney, dominated the Penrith bowlers to create the unique feat of players from the same team scoring centuries in consecutive games.
It followed Orange’s Phoebe Litchfield hitting an unbeaten 100 on Monday.
“To get consecutive hundreds in two days is unheard of,” Cumming said.
While it is the 22nd time the championships have been held it is the first year the girls have had their own competition.
Both Western and ACT are undefeated after two games.
They will face off in the third round at Riawena Oval on Wednesday with the winner grabbing first bragging rights against what looks like re-match in the final the next day.
The Orange Invitational XI suffered its first loss of the boys’ tournament going down to St George Dragons.
The Orange team beat Newington College on Monday but found the St George team a much stronger opposition.
Mitchell will play Newington on Wednesday at Jack Brabham 2 in a bid to get through the first round unbeaten.
In other results on Tuesday Dubbo defeated Wagga Wagga, Shoalhaven beat Newington and Blacktown defeated Manly Warringah.
On Wednesday Blacktown will face Dubbo at Jack Brabham Park 1.
ACT will play Manly Warringah while Wagga Wagga will play South Coast.
Orange will have a crack at a second win when it meets Shoalhaven while Illawarra will play St George.
