Confederates’ player Annabelle Tierney had a tough introduction to national level hockey when her team, Tasmania, was walloped 5-0 by a Queensland side that cracked four goals in a seven-minute spell.

Tierney is contesting the Hockey Australia Under-18 Indoor Championship at Wollongong.
After being crowned development player of the NSW titles Tierney was picked up by Tasmania for the national event.
However, the first game of the tournament, proved one-sided after Queensland had led 1-0 at half time.
Later in the day Orange’s other representative in the titles, Chloe Barrett, played for NSW in a thrilling 3-3 draw against Queensland.
After the score was 1-1 at half-time NSW hit the lead with a few minute to go only for Queensland to equalise straight after.
Tierney was due to play again on Tuesday night.
