Drawing partners has worked a treat for some in the Orange men’s darts doubles championships

It’s evened up the pairs, forcing tight contests usually decided in the doubles.

Jess Wiegold and Mitch Kennewell have won four from five to take an early lead but Jason Hurford and Brett Savill, and Rod Millar and Justin Metcraft are hot on their tails with three wins each.

Matt Caughlan and Barry Wicks have two wins.

There’s two more rounds on Wednesday night, before the finals. The B grade was also close.

With drawn partners it’s difficult to predict a winner and one isn’t going to be found until the last dart is thrown.

The next competition starts on January 18, team nominations should be at the Victoria by January 10.

The AGM is on February 21 at the Vic, followed by the presentation at the same venue on February 25.
