Molly Dean, Hope Gibson, Jack Dean, Cruz Jordan (touch), Lucy Cook (basketball) and Will Rodwell (cricket) were selected for Diocesan honours at the school sport trials in Dubbo on Tuesday and will head to Polding trials in 2017.
“We’re proud of all of them they’ve done a great job to get this far, it’s a real stepping stone for all of them,” Croke said.
“I think they definitely all go through and take the next step, they just need to show up on the day.”
Croke was unwavering congratulatory of all six, but did reserve special praise for Rodwell.
“It’s been a long time we’ve had a cricketer go to this level, so we’re very pleased about Will’s success,” Croke said.
“The last real success story as a cricketer Polding had was (former Australian Test star) Phillip Hughes all those years ago.
“It’s great to see all the kids doing so well, it’s reward for their hard work. They all play on the weekends and we put a big influence on sport here as well as academics, it’s great for them to be able to represent their school too.”

Cook and Rodwell head to Lismore in February while the touch stars go to Port Macquarie in June next year to trial, according to NSW Catholic Schools Sports Services website.
