The ladies social, which is held every Thursday morning from 9-12, competitors have been enjoying their tennis and also lapping up the warmer weather.

After their hit this week they all got spruced up and headed out to the Red Oak Cafe at Turners Vineyard for their yearly Christmas lunch.

Twenty-one ladies attended and all said that they enjoyed their meal.

Two special presentations of flowers were made by life member and player Margaret Johnston to club Patron and life member Dolly Kjoller for her lifelong dedication to the club over the years.

The other presentation was to life member Helen Chapman for all her lengthy volunteer work to the Club.

Well deserved to both ladies.

At the recent Orange Ex-Services Club Sports Awards our club member Eleanor Crane shone through by winning the Senior Sportsperson of the Year award.

She came up against some tough competition namely Leanne Kennewell (hockey), Aitaua Holmes (golf) and Lee Stinson (bowls), who were all so deserving of this award themselves.

Eleanor’s resume for the year was full of achievements, with the standouts being; Ex-Services ladies singles and doubles club champion, squad member at the APIA International in Sydney, Astley Cup umpire, played in several tournaments around NSW, along with he dedication to training and preparation.
