They all want to unseat him in the run-up to the US Open which starts on November 4. Belmonte has won the Open twice but reigning champion Ryan Ciminelli is desperate to go back-to-back.
Ciminelli said: “I like my chances and I feel tournament ready. I like being in the role of defending champion.
“I have a little bit of a chip on my shoulder and I just need to channel that mindset into believing I can win and good things can happen.”
Other players keen to defeat Belmonte include another two-handed bowler Jesper Svensson of Sweden who this year became the youngest bowler to claim five PBA titles by age 21.
Earlier this year yet another two-hander Anthony Simonsen from Texas, ended Belmonte’s streak of USBC Masters victories.
The next lead up event is the PBA Fall Classic in Las Vegas from October 28 which includes the PBA Team Challenge event.
Belmonte is teamed with fellow PBA stars Chris Barnes, Tommy Jones, Wes Malott and Bill O’Neill.
