Council’s road repair crews sealed Paling and Austin streets on Friday as the city’s long-awaited road-building season commenced.
Councillor Glenn Taylor said Friday’s work was an encouraging start to $15 million worth of works scheduled in the next eight months.
“There was an uproar from residents as record rain in June, July and September left its mark on the city’s streets and I’m pleased council could respond with a record roads spend,” Cr Taylor said.
Council released the locations of the next roads which, weather permitting, will be worked on in the coming fortnight.
This includes two blocks in Summer Street between the East Orange Creek bridge and Summer Place and both approaches to the intersection of Ophir Road and Winter Street.
Cr Taylor said tenders for the Clergate Road and Burrendong Way upgrades will go out from next week.
