Contesting men’s division two, Orange will look to progress past pool B with games against Goulburn (2), Nepean (2) and then Lithgow on Saturday.
Division two has a heavy central west influence in it, with Dubbo and Bathurst both competing in pool A of the title race.
Last year was the first in almost two decades the Orange Men’s Association was represented at an open indoor state championship.
Orange contested third division of the state championship last year, finishing third after the teaqm suffered back-to-back, one-goal losses against hosts Illawarra.
Veteran player Adam Hurford said the side was determined to build on last year’s return to the open men’s indoor state championships.
If successful in rounding on Saturday’s pool matches in the top two, the competition’s finals begin on Sunday morning.
