Eliza McNiven was named the winner of TAFE Western’s Ivan Kingham scholarship at this year’s Australian National Field Days (ANFD).

Ms McNiven, who is currently studying for her certificate 3 in horticulture, said she was “utterly honoured and privileged” to have won the award on Wednesday.
“Receiving the award from Ivan’s wife, Ruth, was a real highlight”, she said.
Apart from her study, Ms McNiven and her co-manager of the Union Bank’s Union Farms initiative,Oliver Mann, are working to make the venue self-sufficient.
The pair also grow their own sheep and goats which they supply to the Union Bank.
“It’s all about supporting our industry and the local farmers and food producers who are the backbone of our great region,” she said.
The award for best local exhibitor went to Kerin Engineering.
Valton Feeding Solutions was awarded best agricultural exhibit.
