Nurses at the Orange Veterinary Hospital celebrated vet nurse day on Thursday. Nurse Lucy Danson said nurses triage animals, assist in their preparation for surgery and give anesthetic. “It’s a team effort to help support people’s best friends when they need it,” Ms Danson said.

“Keeping them healthy and helping them when they’re sick. Being compassionate is the most important thing as a nurse, putting yourself in the shoes of the patient and advocating for them when they’re in hospital.”

PJL celebrates double digits
Mechanical and engineering firm PJL Group will celebrate 10 years in business on Friday, October 28.
PJL’s general manager Luke Buckland has invited Orange to celebrate the milestone with a family fun day. The family day will have a jumping castle, sausage sizzle and Richie Strahan from television show The Bachelor will join the mayor John Davis and Member for Calare Andrew Gee.
“The event is our way of thanking all our employees, past and present, as well as all our loyal clients and other stakeholders for their support over the past 10 years,” Mr Buckland said. Orange builders win awards
Hotondo Homes has recognised Gillian and Greg Coleman’s efforts in raising the profile of the company in the Orange and Bathurst markets.
During Hotondo Homes’ recent national conference the couple won the award for local marketing event of the year. They were also named runner-up in excellence in customer service, display home of the year and NSW professional builder of the year categories. “Receiving recognition for any aspect of our business is very exciting, especially when it is a national award,” Mrs Coleman said. “The customer service award is also pleasing as we try very hard in this area, mainly due to our excellent office and sales staff.”
