Nurses at the Orange Veterinary Hospital celebrated vet nurse day on Thursday.  Nurse Lucy Danson said nurses triage animals, assist in their preparation for surgery and give anesthetic. “It’s a team effort to help support people’s best friends when they need it,” Ms Danson said.

“Keeping them healthy and helping them when they’re sick. Being compassionate is the most important thing as a nurse, putting yourself in the shoes of the patient and advocating for them when they’re in hospital.”

Orange builders win awards

Hotondo Homes has recognised Gillian and Greg Coleman’s efforts in raising the profile of the company in the Orange and Bathurst markets.

During Hotondo Homes’ recent national conference the couple won the award for local marketing event of the year. They were also named runner-up in excellence in customer service, display home of the year and NSW professional builder of the year categories. “Receiving recognition for any aspect of our business is very exciting, especially when it is a national award,” Mrs Coleman said. “The customer service award is also pleasing as we try very hard in this area, mainly due to our excellent office and sales staff.”
