In Division 1 Lee Pickett was really on fire today. She seized the 8th Monthly Medal with a sizzling nett 65 (which equates to 76 off the stick). She hit every fairway and was deadly with her putter. This is one of the best rounds Lee has had and she was extremely excited with her golf game today.
Division 1 winner with a brilliant nett 67 was Ros Fuller. Ros also completed one of her best rounds today with a near flawless game. Ros has improved her game to become a very consistent player and was extremely satisfied with her round. Ros also won the Division 1 putting with a very low 27 putts. Last Saturday Mother Nature gave golfers some reprieve with sunshine beaming on the course throughout the day. Members and guests contested a 16 Hole Individual Stroke for the replayed August Monthly medal sponsored by the team at Petries Mitre 10.
At the end of the day Jordan Clark claimed A-grade Scratch, with a fine even par round of 61. Jordan has had plenty of defeats at the hands of the Pro Shop Staff in the past few weeks, but with Beak and Fez restricted to Pro Shop duties this week, Jordan took advantage of some easier competition. Steve Neal continued his good form to claim the A-grade Handicap top spot with 57 nett, with John Bankovic the runner up with 61 nett on a countback.
In B-grade Ian Davey was the Scratch best with 75. Mick McGovern won a countback to claim Handicap top spot with 61 nett from Paul Thompson. Sean Pleasance dominated C-grade to win Scratch with 75 while Michael Coote has the Handicapper hunting for him as he won again with an incredible nett 51, naturally this was enough to claim the Monthly Medal. Dave Wilson was the C-grade handicap runner up with 57 nett. On the day you needed nett 61 to win a ball. A birdie on a par 3 won you 5 balls each while the Outback Vending Long Drives were won by Jordan Clark in A-grade, Mark Hammond in B-grade and Orry Lewin in C-grade. Craig Coles also emptied a very full Eagle’s Nest collecting 18 balls with his eagle on the 8th.
Last Sunday the catching up on Monthly Medal events continued with another Monthly Medal for the replayed September Monthly Medal sponsored by Weily’s Betta Home Living and Tabberners Glass. Trish Harvey won the Ladies Division with 65 nett on a countback from Ruth Bevan. James Bale won the Mens Division with 60 nett, and the monthly medal. Jeremy Tadman was runner-up with 64 nett on a countback.
The Thursday stableford competition was restricted to doing the Front 9 twice. George Kastrounis was the winner with 37 points from Maurie Ryan with 33 points. Darrell Duff and Gerard O’Neill both collected Nearest The Pin prizes.
There is an adjusted schedule for the rest of the year available from the Pro Shop.

Veterans
Last Monday Steve Darlington won A Grade in the Vets event at Bathurst Golf Course with 40 points. In B-grade Hugh Munro won with a mamouth score of 41 points. This event was sponsored by the Bathurst Local Vets and 53 players vied for supremacy. It had been scheduled for Duntryleague but the 1200 mm of flood rain recorded so far this year has made the use of carts on Duntryleague unwise and thus the event was transferred.
Runners-up in A-grade were Bill Lambert and Club Captain Manuel Pro with 40 and 39 points respectively. Runners-up in B-grade were Peter Shepherd and Peter Byrne both with 40 points. The Ladies event was won by Ruth Bevan with 30 points followed by Di Johnston and Robin Forrester, both on 28. NTPs Doug Collins, Manuel Pro and Steve Darlington and balls went down to 28. Next event: October 24, Orange.
