A control centre has been established in Dubbo to provide aid and assess the extent of the damage.
Local Land Services incident controller Jillian Kelly said: “Staff have been using aerial surveillance to find and inspect stock at risk, assisting with fodder delivery and providing ongoing support where needed.”
She said aerial surveillance has covered 840,000 hectares across the Forbes, Condobolin, Nyngan and Warren districts.
Ms Kelly said farmers should call 1300 795 299 or email emergency.centralwest@lls.nsw.gov.au to report losses and damage.
She said they had already received 20 calls.
