SOME of the city's bankers have been busy making deposits of their own.
More than half of the staff at Orange's National Australia Bank donated blood at the Red Cross in the past three months, as they outdid their Dubbo counterparts in the 'Winter Blood Drive'.
Some of the bank's donors were first timers, while others - like nine-year veteran Richard Connors - have made a habit of the life-saving gift.
“I looked at it as an opportunity to make a contribution to the community. It makes me feel terrific,” he said.
First time donor Nick Blunt said while he wasn’t “the biggest fan of needles”, he knew it was for a good cause.
“I’ve never done it before but everyone made me feel at ease,” Mr Blunt said.
“It’s something I’ll try and do as the weeks go on.”
