As a result we have lost a caring and much-loved team member.
A farewell to Lita was held on Friday, August 27.
Our new manger is Nicole Bell who has been an enthusiastic and confident team member of our organisation, providing great service delivery and care to our guests.
The generosity and kindness of our community never ceases to amaze. This week we received another donation on behalf of the late Patricia Jane McFadden.
Every year Patricia’s husband donates to ensure that our guests are provided with Christmas gifts and he also provided our Christmas tree and decorations.
This month we received a generous perpetual donation to provide Christmas cheer for many years.
Not only does this provide joy for our guests – who are facing treatments – but it also provides our board and staff with excitement.
It’s great knowing we can support the wonderful gift of giving to those who will really benefit at a time when they are undergoing treatment and are away from their families.
Sister’s Rock Resturant on Canobolas Road has also provided $1,100, an amazing effort from the truffle dinner. A huge amount of work goes into this for our organisation.
Our annual donors continue to support us, with individual donations totalling $10,450, in addition to Grenfell Rotary’s donation of $500.
Cancer Care Western NSW continues to support upgrades where required on the furnishings within Western Care lodge, with a weekday occupany rate of between 98 per cent to 100 per cent occupancy.
Many guests stay for up to seven weeks in this home-away-from-home and we are continually upgrading and replacing items required, as well as completing ongoing maintenance.
Our organisation will also continue to support the Clinical Cancer Trials at Orange Health Service for another 12 months as part of our support action plan.
With over 200 people signed up for trials it is an important role to ensure that service delivery can evolve.
