The Kinross Wolaroi School year 10 student was the recipient of the 2016 Aboriginal Student of the Year for Orange.
As a part of the award, Courtney attended a selective leadership forum at NSW Parliament House, which included a leadership panel discussion and a tour of the building, as well as a meet and greet with prominent Indigenous leaders and NSW premier Mike Baird.
Courtney said the forum was a “very special” experience.
Courtney received the award from legislative council of NSW member Greg Pearce.
“It’s a privilege to support children like Courtney who work hard and are role models,” Mr Pearce said.
