Orange City Council parks and gardens staff harvested daffodils from parks across the city in the lead-up to Friday’s festivities.

Staff donated the flowers to the Cancer Council in order for them to be sold as a fundraiser.

The flowers were sold at a stall in Post Office Lane, which proved popular with Orange residents on the day.

Poles and trees were also dressed with bright yellow bows in Summer Street to serve as a reminder and mark the occasion.

Daffodil Day merchandise was sold at stores across the city including IGA, Metro Plaza Orange, the CBD, Coles Express, Rockmans and Spotlight.

Proceeds raised from Daffodil Day helps Cancer Council volunteers fund vital research and provide support services, education and prevention programs.
