Outgoing market manager Cath Thompson handed the reins to the Manning PR team and Rotary Club of Orange Daybreak members.
Manning PR public relations manager Holly Manning said the new managers encouraged feedback from stallholders and members of the public to determine the future direction of the market.
“We want to review the system, the way it works and what it provides,” Mrs Manning said.
“Once we’ve reviewed it, we’ll sit down with the committee and the Rotary Club of Orange Daybreak and put together a five-year plan.”
Mrs Manning said she intended to retain regular visitors and attract tourists by “offering a full experience”.
“Whether they’re tourists or regular visitors, we want to make it a fun experience,” she said.
“We’re so lucky to already have such an amazing market. It’s a good mix of quality produce and bespoke products,
“Our main aim is to foster a collaborative and supportive environment.”
While there are currently no plans for a new venue for the market, the team intends to work with Orange City Council if the need arises.
Recent tender documents released by council revealed a combined conservatorium and planetarium at the Civic Centre could reduce space available for markets.
“If a new venue encourages more people, it’s a win,” Mrs Manning said.
Mrs Manning said funds collected at the front gate was to go to Rotary Club of Orange Daybreak and part of funds collected from stallholders went to the committee.
“It covers expenses like promoting the market, management fees and having things like special education workshops with stallholders so they can improve their branding and promotion,” she said.
Outgoing market manager Cath Thompson said the market was “in good hands”.
“I hope the community will continue to support local producers,” Mrs Thompson said.
The next Orange Farmers Market will be held on Saturday, September 10 from 8.30am to 12.30pm at Orange Showground in Leeds Parade.
