One week ago, when his Blayney Rams won the right to host this Saturday’s GrainCorp Cup southern conference grand final, the coach confessed he would like to face Cootamundra in the decider.
With the Tricolours win over the Tuskers in last Saturday’s major semi-final in Temora, Syphers got his wish.
Now the Rams’ focus has turned to their opportunity to defend their 2015 title, won courtesy of a 32-15 triumph over Canowindra Pythons.
And Syphers fancies their chances of holding the silverware aloft once more come the full-time whistle at King George Oval this weekend.
We had a draw with them over there last time ... I think another game to prove ourselves against them would be good.

Even if his side’s formline against the Tricolours isn’t the most encouraging.
“We had a draw with them [Tricolours] over there last time,” the mentor lamented.
“It what was a pretty ordinary effort on our behalf but to their credit they were definitely the better team on the day.
“So I think another game to prove ourselves against them would be good.”
Saturday’s decider kicks off at 3.15pm, at Blayney’s King George Oval.
