Marcus Stanford, 25, the identical twin brother of school cleaner Vincent Stanford who murdered Leeton teacher Stephanie Scott, appeared in court for his sentencing hearing at Leeton Courthouse on Tuesday.
He has pleaded guilty to accessory to murder after he sold Ms Scott's engagement ring and another ring for $705 at an Adelaide jewellery store.
During a sentencing hearing, the court heard that Marcus Stanford had received two of Ms Scott's rings and her driver's licence in the mail.
One was her engagement ring, the other was a crossover ring given to her by her mother Merrilyn.
The court heard that Marcus Stanford then spent some of the proceeds from the sale of the rings on a plane ticket from Sydney to Adelaide after he visited his brother in jail.
Police recovered text messages between the twins, with one from Vincent Stanford saying, "I'm going to send you an envelope, keep it safe for me".
He later sent another text message to his brother: "Can you let me know when you receive the envelope?"
The officer in charge of the murder investigation, Detective Sergeant Timothy Clark, told the court that police had recorded a number of phone calls Vincent had made to his brother from jail.
Vincent Stanford: "So what did you do with the stuff I sent you?"
Marcus Stanford: "Exactly what you told me to do."
For the first time the court heard how police charged Vincent Stanford after finding Ms Scott's red bra in a backpack in his bedroom and her keys to Leeton High School.
They also recovered a camera with pictures of Ms Scott's burnt remains.
When police questioned Vincent Stanford about the photographs, he told then "that he downloaded them from a horror movie."
Marcus Stanford's hearing continues before Justice Robert Allan Hulme.
