ORANGE TAFE students Jane Tyack and Ray Haynes have compiled a body of work they believe will be exciting for all viewers.
The two participated in a sculpture class this year and will display their works in an exhibition called A Butcher’s Hook.
“Working with recycled steel, I have tried to develop the natural line or form that the metal reflects,” Jane said.
“I have enjoyed experimenting with different patinas to create interesting textures and colours. It’s amazing how many colours there are in weathered steel.”
Mr Haynes on the other hand has an interest in ceramics. He said he was working on developing his skills in tile relief production.
Both artists agree they’ve found interesting and rewarding mediums.
The exhibition opens on October 30 at 6.30pm and will be open until November 2.
The show will be opened by Victor Gordon at B-Block Gallery at TAFE and everyone is welcome.
