Kennewell, 34, will make her masters debut this weekend as Orange’s over-35 side looks to defend its 2015 division two title, not long after she was named in the NSW over-35 side.
We’d like to do well but we just love playing and meeting up with all the people we know from the other areas.
- Val Gregory
Kennewell’s side is one of four Orange is sending to Taree this weekend, three less than usual but Gregory put that down to, simply, the competition being a long way away.
“Usually we have seven teams but Taree is a long way away,” she said.
Orange is also sending over-40, over-50 and over-55 sides to the state titles.
Gregory said while all the sides are hopeful of winning or at least performing well, the weekend is as much about enjoying themselves.
“We’d like to do well but we just love playing and meeting up with all the people we know from the other areas,” she said.
The masters titles kick off on Friday and come to a close on Sunday.
