In this week's food lift-out in the Daily Telegraph a number of the country's top chefs were asked to recommend their favourite places to eat throughout Australia.
Sydney chef and television personality Matt Moran, whose own restaurants include ARIA, Chiswick and North Bondi Fish, named Tonic as his "go-to" place to eat.
According to the article Mr Moran also gave Orange a big wrap.
He called the apple city a great town "with amazing farmers markets" and Tonic chef Tony Worland "a great cook".
Mr Moran said Tonic was located close to the Moran family's farm.
Tonic was established in 2003 by owners Tony and Nicole Worland, and the restaurant's menu showcases the best from local producers such as Mandagery Creek Venison and Cowra Lamb.
Over the last 11 years the restaurant has regularly been awarded a chef's hat by the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide.
