And for years, Millthorpe Village Committee has been pressing council and road authorities to replace the insignificant fingerpost to the shopping centre on the Post Office corner with something a bit more significant and noticeable.

At long last, substantial new signs have been erected at both entrances to town on the main road pointing down the hill to our historic village centre and the wonderful facilities it contains.

The new brown and blue signs, which carry through on the historic village marker signs to Millthorpe in Blayney and on the Mitchell Highway, have been put up 400 metres north and south of the Post Office corner.

You certainly can’t miss them.

THE Annual General Meeting of the Millthorpe Village Committee will be held on August 17 at 6.30pm in the School of Arts, located on Victoria Street. 

One of its most important functions is to elect new office bearers for the following year.

THE Redmond Oval Committee (ROC) will hold an information session on July 27 at Millthorpe Bowling Club at 6pm.

ROC’s Chairman, Michael Truloff, told the Millthorpe Murmurs that “due to the extra time needed to finish everything, we thought we’d explain what’s happening and be available so that people can ask questions, make suggestions or get involved.” 

However, even with the delays, the oval is expected to become available during October.

This means it will be ready to host the next Millthorpe Markets on December 4, as well as the full summer season’s sports.
